The year is 1999 and Germanicos founder John Tellis embarks on a journey that will see him and his company grow to become Australia’s most experienced and respected bespoke tailor. The motto is simple… ‘to make our clients look and feel a million bucks!’ A motto Germanicos still lives by, going into its 20th anniversary, in November 2019. Now established as Australia’s leading tailor, Germanicos has no tailors within Australia that can complete with its experience.

Starting from humble beginnings in a small showroom on Little Collins St, Melbourne, John starts on a mission to bring the quality of bespoke tailoring from the likes of Saville Row, to Australia. Germanicos now has master tailors all over the country including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra, allowing for grooms all over, a bespoke experience like no other.

Germanicos has been the driving force of bespoke’s renaissance in not just Australia but the world, redefining the model and bringing it into the twentieth century. Strong relationships with some of the finest mills have meant that Germanicos have eliminated the middle man when buying fabrics and can provide the most competitive price on some of the finest cloths in the world.

The last two decades have given Germanicos an experience that rivals only the likes of Savile Row. Our pattern makers draft impeccable patterns for our clients to use time and time again. Once a fit is finalised, our patterns are vaulted away, on hold for our clients to use well after their wedding, at their beck and call.
